Kim Burris

Guest Instructor

Kim Burris has been a professional artist for several decades, beginning as a graphic designer and illustrator at the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education where she eventually became Executive Director.  In 2000, Kim left the Consortium to pursue a career in decorative and mural painting with a special focus on botanical and wildlife subjects.  She started a business called “Surface Works” and had commissions in science and nature museums, corporate offices and residences. Kim also produced a number of botanical paintings for NICU family rooms in hospitals around the country. Kim works in a variety of media with a particular emphasis on color pencil, watercolor and oil.

 

Kim has an appreciation for all aspects of the natural world and a special interest in the infinite variety of insects.
