Jeanette Compton

Guest Instructor

Jeanette Compton is an artist and educator whose stark pen and ink compositions focus on locally found natural objects such as nests, branches, bark, fungi and other materials whose texture and form catch her attention. She strives to convey a respect and admiration for the natural world, especially in its sometimes unnoticed details.

Jeanette's work has been shown throughout the region in both group exhibitions, including "Environmental Food Chain", RE:ARTISTE International Art Organization at Gallery MC, New York, NY, and "Seeing Green",  an exhibition at The Gallery at the Connecticut Cancer Foundation in Old Saybrook, and solo efforts, such as "The Nature of New Haven" at Ives Gallery, New Haven and "Empty Nests" at the Woodbridge Town Library. She is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.

Jeanette holds a BS in Biology and an MS in Environmental Education from SCSU.
